The CSCS mock test 2024 below will cover most of the health and safety topics you’ll need to know to pass your test. The real CSCS operatives test consists of 50 multiple-choice questions which you must complete in 45 minutes. There will be no time limit for this full CSCS practice test, so you can take your time and go through each question after you’ve submitted your answers.

All the questions in the CSCS mock test above are identical to the real test question. For copyright reasons, the questions are worded slightly differently but the question idea and answers remain exactly the same.

2. How many questions are there in the CSCS operatives test?

Like the practice CSCS test above, there are 50 multiple-choice questions in total. 38 of these will be multiple-choice questions, with the remaining 12 being behavioural case study questions. See examples of the behavioural case study questions here.

3. What is the pass mark for the CSCS operatives test?

The pass mark for the CSCS operatives test is 45 out of 50. This equates to a 90% pass rate.

5. How long is the CSCS test?

You’ll have 45 minutes to complete the CSCS operatives test. (We have not added a timer to the CSCS mock exam above, this was done to allow you to go over your questions and answers as long as you need).

6. Is the CSCS test hard or is it an easy common sense test?

The CSCS test is not easy. Some people might say that it’s common sense, but it isn’t. The only way to pass is to revise and practice for the test.

7. What do I need to bring to sit the CSCS operatives test?

You will need to bring your valid CSCS card if you have one and a form of identification, such as a passport or driving licence. You should receive a list of what you’re required to bring when you book your test.

8. How long do I have to wait for my CSCS test results?

Your results will be available immediately after you have finished the test. It’s similar to if you’ve done the driving theory test.

9. What if I fail the CSCS operatives test?

If you fail the CSCS operatives test, you will be able to retake the test after 14 days. You can retake the test as many times as you need to until you pass.

10. What happens if I pass the CSCS operatives test?

Once you have passed the CSCS operatives test, you will be able to apply for your CSCS card which will be valid for 5 years. You will then need to renew your card every 5 years to keep it valid.
